TRAIN - Bulgaria - Hungary

I am finally of my train ---- and I say MY-train. I had the cell all to myself and the hole car... and my private toilet -- that was the most cleanest toilet i have been to sins I started my trip (yes yes - this is something we like to talk about - the WC on our trips). It was just so nice my ride and i did not mind the 3 hours delay when i got my cell in the train. What a sweet ride - i will do this again.
Tibor cam and got me from the train station and took me to this good restaurant - i had the best egg-plant dish ever. But I don't think i can find this plays again - even if i had to - it was in the middle of homes in some small town.

VELIKO TARNOVO - day 2

This was a long long day - with me hiking 8km up hill (that is my best angel) and then Wilma talked me in walking all the way back... not an easy job. On this hike we me the other girl staying at our hostel!!! and i did drop my camera and now it is broken - so i don't know what to do with the rest of my trip - with the pictures.
We just go back from diner and it is after midnight... so i think i go to bed now....

Still in Veliko Tranovo

I am staying at this hostel – in a dorm!!! except i did get it all to myself – just paid 10lv more that is around 500ikr – so i am happy! but what to do with 6 bunk beds – i might go in to business... the room has an internet access and comes with a breakfast. I met a nice lady from Germany – Wilma – she is staying at my hostel. We are thinking of going on a trip tomorrow – we see what happens. I just cant remember the name of the town that we are going to tomorrow – it starts with a “A” and is short and only 3 km away from here!!!

I did go and see the fortress today – really nice. This town is wonderful – so old and homey. All this old houses and streets. The town is on severals hills all around and has this river that swings trough it and a highway that go's strait under it all, just coming out by the river. There are lot of nice shops here too. But i am a good girl and not shopping anything I am not willing to carry for the next week's...

On Thursday i am boarding a train and staying on the same train for 26 hours – this will be a first for me. What do i pack for lunch!!! lol

VELIKO TARNOVO

The train ride here was good – and no major catastrophes. I am still amazed i was able to change trains and make it – even if my Varna train was 18 minutes late and my changing time was 20 minutes. Every one that has been with me on a tour know that the minute I get in to a bus or a train i am asleep. Well I set my alarm for the time the train was suppose to be at the right location – clever girl I am. The few times i did open my eyes there was a landfill or a sewage treatment plant – I was just loving it. This is the way to travel – and educate at the same time. The sewage plant was operated similar to many American plants i have gone to - with slow settling and spraying of the sewage – I know i know – not fun!

VARNA BULGARIA

My first day I did good – I got to Varna and Eirkiur got me from the air-port. I just wanted to get of at the old church but he kept going until he found the train station. I now know that I can get to ticket and train in the morning leaving at 7:55. I finally found my hotel – well it was to close for me to notes... believe it or not!!! I got there and they did not have a room --- and I did reservation? So i was taken by a taxi to a new fancy hotel – where i have my own terras. I have navigated my way to a restaurant where I am sitting now. I just love my new computer :- ) now i just have to find a internet to get this on the net.

Everyone has been really helpful – and I forgot my international translator that i got from Art!!! How stupid of me ... lol. The one time I know I will be really needing it!!!

At 7:55 tomorrow morning I will be heading West for V V via train. I will stay there for 2 nights, I am really looking forward in seeing this place, especially the old town – it has a fortress all around it. Jónina did tell me about it – she wants to go – so i will stake out the place and see if it is worth the trip.

Where I'm going!!!

Tomorrow I head off for Bulgaria via Varna. My brother is there and he will be taking 30 people down to Sozopol to look at some houses. I am going to ask him to take my "clean bag" down to your house - so I have some clean stuff when I fines my trip. So here go's - I have planded the first week. One night in Varna - then a train to Veliko Tarnovo where I be staying for 2 nights. Then heading to Bucharest and staying there only a night (stay hear longer on the way back) and from there I take a train to Békéscsaba in Hungary to see my friend Tibor and he is going to show me around this part of Hungary. Then I head back in to Romania to Transylvania --for hear it is little blurry - but I am heading to Moldavia and there to the small country of Transdniestr. From there i head over to Ukraine and I am thinking of going to Kyiv (time will tell).
I just cant wait for my adventure to start.

Bye Heilsuverndarstöðn!

My last day at my old job with Heilsuverndarstöðin former InPro was last Thursday. It was sad to say bye to all my good friends and colleague. Life go's on and I have new challenges at my new company Mannvit former Hönnun, Rafhönnun and VGK. I am so lucky I know some good people that work there - like my good friend Marta Maria. I start at Mannvit 1 of July - before that I am going on one of my adventures - this time to Eastern Europe. I will do my best and keep every on informed here on my blog.

Sailor in Command!!!

Today I graduated with my captain certificate – and I did pretty well. So now everyone has to be aware when sailing anywhere around Iceland – you never know where I might be… I will put out an official warning when I get my own boat.
From now on I will be the Sailor in Command!!! :- )
